Delaware: Tell Governor Carney to VETO House Bill 311!
Dear [Lawmaker],
As a fellow resident of Delaware, I urge you to VETO HB 311. Armed professors are the first responders in an active shooter situation at university and robbing them of this ability to protect others would only make college and university campuses less safe. In addition, this legislation could lead to confusion among concealed carry permit holders who may not realize they are on property owned by a college or university. Passing this bill would deprive students and professors of their Second Amendment rights. A person convicted under this section will be guilty of a Class A misdemeanor which could result in up to one year in jail. A sentence of one year of more will result in a person losing their Second Amendment rights. I urge you once again to VETO HB 311. Thank you for all that you do for our state.
Sincerely,
______
