Reject A-4953 & S-3842: Stop Higher Prescription Drug Costs in New Jersey

Trenton politicians are pushing Assembly Bill 4953 and Senate Bill 3842—proposals that would hike prescription drug costs and health care costs for New Jersey families, workers and employers. Instead of real solutions to lower prices, these bills would:

Eliminate proven cost-saving tools that patients and employers rely on.

I am writing as your constituent to urge you to oppose Assembly Bill 4953 and Senate Bill 3842, fundamentally misguided proposals that would increase prescription drug costs and health care costs for New Jersey families, employers and unions.

At a time when hardworking New Jersey families are already struggling with the high cost of living, these policies would make things worse. Rather than implementing unproven policies and eliminating existing cost-lowering tools that work, lawmakers need to push policy solutions that prioritize delivering savings to patients. Rising costs will only worsen the existing affordability crises across the board in the Garden State.

Assembly Bill 4953 and Senate Bill 3842 would ban pay-for-performance incentives in the private health care marketplace that employers and unions rely on to lower prescription drug costs for the working people who rely on them for health insurance coverage. Higher prescription drug costs for New Jersey employers and unions will result in higher out-of-pocket costs for New Jersey patients.

New Jersey families deserve affordable health care — not higher out-of-pocket health care costs and prescription drug costs.

I urge you to stand with hardworking families, employers and unions and vote NO on Assembly Bill 4953 and Senate Bill 3842.
