Since October 7th, Jewish communities in the United States have faced a significant increase in antisemitism and hate crimes, with the FBI reporting that anti-Jewish hate crimes spiked by 63% in 2023 and the Jewish community being the target of 15% of all hate crimes and 68% of all religious-based hate crimes.
We thank our Congressional champions for allocating an additional $400 Million for the Nonprofit Security Grant Program (NSGP) in the National Security Supplemental package in addition to $284.5 million in the Fiscal Year 2024 Homeland Security appropriations bill.
Despite Congress’s leadership and efforts to equip our communities with necessary resources, Jewish institutions are still threatened with violence. In fact, ADL recently reported that over 10,000 antisemitic incidents occurred in the United States over the past year, including more than 2,000 incidents at Jewish institutions. Jewish communities require additional security funding and resources to keep themselves safe. To do so, we call on our champions to allocate $500 million for the 2026 Nonprofit Security Grant Program, ensuring that our communities can continue to flourish without fear. Please fill out the action alert below to urge your member of Congress to vote for increased NSGP funding to ensure that our communities have the security equipment and infrastructure necessary to keep us safe and to thwart violent, antisemitic attacks.
