Arizona: Urge Governor Hobbs to Sign Pro-2A Bills into Law!
Dear [Lawmaker],
As your constituent, I respectfully urge you to sign Senate Bills 1014, 1020, and 1143 into law. SB 1014 updates Arizona’s definition of “prohibited weapon” by removing suppressors—devices already tightly regulated under federal law. This legislation aligns state law with federal standards and provides important legal clarity for responsible gun owners. SB 1020 protects the rights of law-abiding adults who are licensed to carry a concealed firearm by preventing public colleges and universities from adopting policies that disarm them solely because they are seeking higher education. SB 1143 defends the privacy of firearm purchasers by prohibiting the use of special merchant category codes that unfairly target gun owners. These codes are unnecessary, invasive, and could create databases of lawful gun purchases without due process. These bills reflect Arizona’s strong commitment to the Second Amendment and the rights of responsible gun owners across our state. I urge you to sign them without delay. Thank you for your time and for your service to the people of Arizona.
Sincerely,
______
