South Carolina has the highest
boat property taxes in America!
Dear [Lawmaker],
As your constituent, I’m urging you to support final passage of H.3858 before the legislative session ends for the summer. South Carolina boaters pay the highest property taxes on boats in the country — up to 5 to 7 times more than our neighbors. This bill would cut those taxes nearly in half and eliminate outdated, duplicative titling requirements that result in wrongful double taxation on outboard engines. This reform could save hundreds of thousands of South Carolinians thousands of dollars on their tax bills — real money that helps real families. Give us a reason to be excited to take our boats out on our beautiful waterways this summer. Support H.3858 and fix this broken system.
