Meanwhile, the House just resoundingly voted to reject Rep. Rashida Tlaib’s two anti-Israel amendments to the DETERRENT Act — legislation aimed at increasing transparency of foreign funding to U.S. colleges and universities — that would have effectively supported a boycott of Israel.

Dear [Lawmaker],

As your constituent and an AIPAC member, I urge you to oppose Senator Bernie Sanders’ dangerous resolutions to block critical arms sales to Israel. I urge you to NOT cosponsor these resolutions and vote NO if they are brought up for a vote.

Israel faces ongoing threats on seven fronts from Iran and its terrorist proxies. At the same time, the Iranian regime continues to fund terrorism around the region and advance its nuclear program.

These vital arms sales will help ensure the Jewish state has the resources it needs to defend itself against Iran and the regime’s terrorist proxies. Israel has demonstrated over the past year the ability to inflict significant pain on its enemies — who are also America’s enemies — when it is supplied with the necessary arms and political support.

These sales are financed in part by congressionally appropriated security assistance to Israel, and all of the weapons in these sales are made in the United States, supporting American jobs and helping our economy.

American support for our democratic ally is essential, and Congress must continue to stand strong with Israel. Any daylight between Israel and American only emboldens our shared enemies and makes it more difficult to secure the release of the Israeli and American citizens held hostage in Gaza.

I urge you to oppose Sanders’ effort and vote NO on his dangerous resolutions.

As your constituent, I noticed you did not vote on Rep. Rashida Tlaib’s anti-Israel amendments to the DETERRENT Act (H.R. 1048) that would have effectively supported a boycott of Israel. I hope you would have joined the overwhelming bipartisan majority in voting against the dangerous measures.

Tlaib's amendments would have put Israel into the same category as U.S. adversaries Russia, China, Iran and North Korea — using the International Criminal Court's (ICC) and International Court of Justice's (ICJ) baseless and illegitimate cases against Israel as a pretext to do so — prohibiting colleges and universities from entering contracts with Israel.

If adopted, her amendments would also have required colleges and universities to disclose any investments in Israel, including Israeli stocks or bonds, an approach aligned with the discriminatory boycott, divestment and sanction (BDS) campaign against the Jewish state.

I hope you would have voted NO on these amendments and oppose such efforts moving forward.
