Texas: Support Senate Bill 1065 Today!
Dear [Lawmaker],
I am writing as your constituent to urge you to support Senate Bill 1065, sponsored by Senator Bob Hall. This important legislation would prevent lessees of publicly owned property from creating so-called “gun-free zones” that disarm law-abiding citizens. Last year’s decision by the Texas State Fair to ban licensed carry on public property underscored the need for this bill. SB 1065 ensures that government entities include provisions in lease agreements that protect the rights of License to Carry (LTC) holders. Texans should not be forced to choose between personal safety and full participation in public events held on taxpayer-funded property. Please vote YES on SB 1065 to help preserve our right to self-defense and ensure consistent application of Texas law on public property. Thank you for your time and service.
