Faith communities across South Carolina are facing rising threats of violence, yet too many lack the resources to enhance their security. H4145, the SC Pray Safe Act, would establish a state-funded security grant program to help synagogues, churches, mosques, and other houses of worship protect their congregants.
As antisemitism and other acts of hate continue to rise, we cannot allow safety concerns to go unaddressed. Many states have already taken action to help faith communities stay secure—now it’s time for South Carolina to do the same.
