New York: Oppose S. 362, S. 399 & S. 4277
Dear [Lawmaker],
As your constituent and a law-abiding New York gun owner, I urge you to vote NO on the following bills when they come before the Senate Codes Committee on May 20: S. 362 – Imposes a 10-day mandatory waiting period on all lawful firearm purchases, delaying a fundamental right and endangering citizens with urgent self-defense needs. S. 399 – Bans so-called “convertible” pistols and popular semi-automatic handguns already regulated under state and federal law—an outright gun ban masquerading as a “Glock-switch” bill. S. 4277 – Prohibits civilian possession of .50-caliber rifles, firearms rarely if ever used in crime but favored by competitive shooters and collectors. These proposals will not enhance public safety; they will only burden responsible gun owners, undermine constitutional rights, and divert resources from enforcing laws that target actual criminals. Please stand up for the rights of your constituents and oppose S. 362, S. 399, and S. 4277 in committee and on the floor. Thank you for your time and service.
Sincerely,
______
