I am writing to you today with grave concerns about two pieces of legislation that have been introduced in the United States Senate: the Assault Weapons Ban (S.25) and the Age 21 Act (S.14). I urge you to vote NO if considered on the Senate floor. 

These pieces of legislation make it clear that Washington isn’t serious about protecting communities and reducing crime. Instead, this misguided legislation attempts to ban specific firearms using the arbitrary label of “assault weapon” and would discriminate against Americans who are 18-20 years old. 

There are many young adults in America who are the sole provider for themselves and their families. These bills would leave individuals unable to protect themselves and their families.

As your constituent I ask you to vote against this legislation should it come to the floor. Instead, I urge you to support solutions that affirm our constitutional right to protect our loved ones and empower responsibly armed Americans to save lives. Let’s advance policies like national concealed carry reciprocity and tax credits for firearm training and education; policies that will make our communities safer.
