Oregon: Permit-to-Purchase and FFL-Killer Bills Up for Committee Vote Soon
Dear [Lawmaker],
As a fellow resident of Oregon, I urge you to please OPPOSE HB 3075 and HB 3076 in your committee. HB 3075 seeks to alter the provisions of Ballot Measure 114, in a manner that voters did not approve. Increased application costs and waiting periods infringe on my right to keep and bear arms. HB 3076 creates a state licensing scheme for federally-licensed firearms businesses, creating even more burdensome regulations for these businesses to operate under. FFLs are highly regulated under federal law already and holding the business owner liable for the actions of criminals is unfair and will not deter any future crimes. These bills no nothing to address crime in our state, and only place further burdens on law-abiding gun owners and businesses in our state. The Legislature should instead seek solutions to hold criminals accountable for their illegal actions. Again, I urge you to OPPOSE HB 3075 and HB 3076. Thank you for all that you do for our state.
Sincerely,
______
