Americans have overcome unprecedented challenges over the past year, but now Congress is playing politics with the products that helped get us through it.
I write today to ask you to OPPOSE any bill that could break our favorite tech products.
Before and during the pandemic, Americans turned to tech products like Amazon Prime for deliveries, Google Maps to find directions to local businesses, and to connect with loved ones. These bills could make all these things harder, more expensive, less convenient, and less secure.
We should ask Congress to answer a very simple question: what happens after you implement barriers to innovation in the one area of the economy where competition forces companies to introduce new consumer products and services daily?
Specifically, these bills could...
● Upend the way Americans use things like Amazon Prime and Google Search.
● Threaten the tools that small businesses use every day to reach customers, build trust, and drive growth.
● Jeopardize security measures that help keep Americans' data private and their online experience safe.
● Arbitrarily disadvantage our most successful companies and force them to provide data and IP to foreign rivals, opening the door for Chinese competitors to continue their ascent.
Please OPPOSE any bill that could ruin our favorite tech products. Thank you.
