Michigan: Oppose Senate Bill 225 and 226
Dear [Lawmaker],
As your constituent, I urge you to oppose Senate Bills 225 and 226, which would further restrict the rights of responsible, law-abiding gun owners in Michigan. These bills ban the possession of firearms in the Capitol, House, and Senate office buildings unless the individual is a member of the Legislature. They also narrow existing carry allowances on school premises, limiting concealed carry to only parents or legal guardians who are dropping off or picking up a student—provided they remain outside the school building and their firearm is lawfully concealed. Rather than addressing violent crime, SB 225 and SB 226 unfairly target responsible citizens who simply wish to exercise their constitutional rights. These proposals do nothing to enhance public safety and only serve to erode the freedoms of Michiganders. Please stand up for the Second Amendment and vote NO on SB 225 and SB 226. Thank you for all that you do for the great state of Michigan.
Sincerely,
______
