Texas: Support SB 706 and SB 1596.
Dear [Lawmaker],
As your constituent, I urge you to support Senate Bill 706 and Senate Bill 1596, two important measures that will enhance and protect the Second Amendment rights of law-abiding Texans. SB 706 ensures that Texas recognizes all out-of-state concealed carry licenses, aligning our license-to-carry laws with the state’s existing permitless carry statute and providing clarity and consistency for lawful gun owners traveling through or relocating to Texas. SB 1596 removes short-barreled rifles and shotguns from the list of prohibited weapons under Texas law. These firearms remain subject to regulation under the federal National Firearms Act, but this bill would eliminate unnecessary state-level restrictions that burden responsible gun owners. I respectfully ask you to vote YES on SB 706 and SB 1596 when they come before the House. Thank you for standing up for the rights of Texas gun owners.
