Housing Providers Need Regulatory Predictability

As a member of the rental housing industry in Oregon, and your constituent, I wanted to pass along a startling statistic.

Housing providers have dealt with 72 changes to local and state rental code since 2020. This is not sustainable, and has caused many housing providers to consider selling their units.

Housing stability is achieved through regulatory predictability.

We cannot continue to change the already-robust laws (some that are only a few years old) that control rental housing. Not when renters and providers are in the middle of a housing crisis.

Please reject proposals that will change rental law yet again in our state - and focus on addressing the root cause of housing instability by providing rent assistance and increasing housing supply.
