Oppose HB 1608
Dear [Lawmaker],
As a fellow Maryland resident and your constituent, I respectfully urge you to OPPOSE HB 1608. HB 1608 would dramatically expand firearm storage mandates by requiring firearms, loaded or unloaded, to be locked in expensive “fire, impact, and tamper-resistant” storage containers whenever they are not carried or under the direct control of the owner. Violations could carry escalating penalties, including fines and potential firearm possession prohibitions. This legislation imposes costly and overly burdensome requirements on responsible firearm owners while threatening the rights of individuals who are exercising their constitutional freedoms. Again, I respectfully urge you to OPPOSE HB 1608 in the House Judiciary Committee. Thank you for your service to the people of Maryland.
