Don’t delay – November 30 is deadline to comment on Santiam State Forest restoration

Oregonians acted swiftly when the Tillamook and Elliott forests burned decades ago. Now it’s our turn to aid and assist Oregon’s devastated forests and communities, starting with approximately 25,000 acres within Santiam State Forest burned by the 2020 Beachie Creek Fire.

Now, through November 30, our Oregon Department of Forestry is soliciting public comment on a plan to remove dead trees and restore the much-loved Shellburg Falls Recreation Area.

Let’s make sure Oregonians are heard loud and clear: Don’t delay. Replant and restore the Santiam State Forest today!

Tell our state foresters to get to work on Shellburg Falls and in other areas ravaged by fire. Cut the red tape and restore the Oregon forests we love and need.
