Right now, Wisconsin still forces law-abiding gun owners to ask the government for permission to exercise their Second Amendment rights. You need a permit just to carry concealed.

Assembly Bill 609/Senate Bill 607 — Constitutional Carry — fixes that.

AB609/SB607 repeals the outdated ban on carrying concealed without a permit, restoring your right to self-defense without government paperwork. The bill still allows those who want a permit for interstate reciprocity or school zone exemptions to get one — but for everyone else, your rights shouldn’t come with a price tag or bureaucratic delay.

It’s simple: if you can legally own a firearm, you should be able to carry it — period.

As your constituent, I’m urging you to support Bill (AB609/SB607)—the Constitutional Carry bill—to restore the full intent of our Second Amendment rights here in Wisconsin.

Whereas, the Second Amendment to the U.S. Constitution and Section 25 of the Wisconsin Constitution clearly protect the right of the people to keep and bear arms without government infringement;

Whereas, the will of the people is to decriminalize carrying a concealed handgun without a permit for citizens who are legally eligible under state and federal law to possess a firearm;

Whereas, data shows that crime rates decrease in areas where law-abiding citizens are not prohibited from carrying concealed firearms;

Therefore, I respectfully urge you to support AB609/SB607 and work to eliminate laws that restrict eligible citizens from carrying a concealed firearm without a permit.

This is a matter of both principle and public safety. Please take swift action to pass Constitutional Carry and stand with the Constitution—and with your constituents.
