Oregon: Gun Control Votes This Afternoon, TAKE ACTION NOW!
Dear [Lawmaker],
As a fellow resident of Oregon, I urge you to OPPOSE Senate Bill 243 and House Bill 3076 in your committee. SB 243 is an omnibus gun-control bill that includes elements of other pending anti-gun legislation, including: SB 696, creating the crime of unlawful transport, manufacture, or transfer of a "rapid-fire activator;" SB 698, gun-free zone expansion; and HB 3075, which implements portions of Ballot Measure 114 through legislative action. HB 3076 will impose significant restrictions and penalties on lawful and already highly regulated Federal Firearms License businesses, including 24-hour video surveillance for all FFLs including home-based FFLs, meaning around-the-clock government monitoring within one’s own home. These provisions do nothing to address crime in our state, and only place undue burdens on law-abiding gun owners and businesses. Again, I urge you to OPPOSE these bills. Thank you for all that you do for our state.
Sincerely,
______
