Tell Congress: Stop the Unauthorized Alcohol Study
Dear [Lawmaker],
As your constituent, I urge you to make the 2025 DGA review process open and transparent and ensure that studies are unbiased, barring any input from anti-alcohol stakeholders currently involved. Recent decisions to remove alcohol from the standard DGA review process and assign the Interagency Coordinating Committee for the Prevention of Underage Drinking (ICCPUD) to make recommendations on adult alcohol consumption are highly troubling. The misallocation of responsibility, lack of transparency, and issues of bias and undue foreign influence in this process are deeply problematic. This move risks allowing ideology and prohibitionist sentiments to influence what should be evidence-based scientific guidelines. Additionally, the potential 2025 alcohol consumption recommendation is a drastic change from years prior, further suggesting the need to conduct ample research before a decision is made. I urge you to ensure that the DGA review process for alcohol consumption is free from bias and based on the preponderance of sound scientific evidence.
Sincerely,
______
