Connecticut: Firearms Restrictions Pass Connecticut House Despite Bipartisan Opposition
Dear [Lawmaker],
As a fellow resident of Connecticut and your constituent, I urge you to OPPOSE H 5043 and vote "NO" in the Senate. H 5043 bans the future manufacture, sale and importation of many commonly-owned handguns in Connecticut and doing so would result in a Class D felony. It is already illegal to convert legal firearms into fully automatic firearms. This legislation targets law-abiding manufacturers, dealers, and residents rather than individuals performing illegal modifications on otherwise basic platforms. With 15 House Democrats joining the Republicans in opposition to this bill, H 5043 is not a partisan issue but a Constitutional issue. Again, I urge you to OPPOSE H 5043. Thank you for your consideration.
Sincerely,
______
